IoT-enabled smart pond monitoring system

Designed for high-risk aquaculture environments, our system continuously tracks water quality, sends alerts, and helps you automate pond management tasks.

Why water quality matters

The heart of fish production

The quality of water available to the fish is one of the most important factors in fish production. Water quality directly affects feed efficiency, growth rates, survival and overall health of the fish.

A number of parameters can be used to measure water quality, but the most critical include:

  • Dissolved Oxygen (DO)
  • Ionized ammonia (NH₃)
  • Carbon dioxide (CO₂)
  • Nitrite and nitrate concentration
  • pH (acidity/alkalinity)
  • Turbidity and overall clarity
  • Alkalinity level
What Trident Analitics monitors

Real-time data from your ponds

Our smart pond monitoring system continuously captures these critical parameters and pushes them to the cloud in real time for analysis and decision-making.

  • Continuous monitoring of DO, pH, temperature, turbidity, ammonia and more.
  • AI-assisted analysis to detect risky patterns and suggest corrective actions.
  • Configurable alerts to your mobile phone when thresholds are crossed.
  • Support for single ponds and multi-pond farms from one central dashboard.

The result: a dramatic boost in aquaculture yield and productivity, with fewer “surprise” fish kills.

IoT-enabled smart pond monitoring – key features

Trident Analitics uses modern IoT, cloud and AI technologies to make fish farming easier, safer and more efficient.

IoT sensors & automation

IoT technologies have revolutionised fish farming by using sensor networks to measure values such as pH, temperature, DO and more.

With our system, fish farm management can be:

  • Automated where it makes sense (aeration, feeding, pumping).
  • Remotely monitored from any location, saving time and travel costs.
  • Made more efficient and eco-friendly with data-driven decisions.

Smart pond management system

Our pond management system is a real-time management platform with a mobile app and IoT backend.

  • Two-way real-time communication – you can send commands and receive confirmations.
  • Notifications when a task is needed or when a task has been completed.
  • AI analysis to detect patterns, anomalies and trends that are hard to see manually.

Gateway hardware

The gateway is the central brain that connects your pond to the cloud.

  • Microcontroller interface connected to temperature, pH and other sensors.
  • Sensor data is collected and pushed to the cloud for real-time monitoring.
  • GSM and Wi-Fi communication options integrated into one unit.

The smart pond manager acts as the main central unit and is perfectly suited for remote pond monitoring, with built-in support for secure cloud connectivity.

Dashboard & mobile app

All information collected by the gateway can be visualised and analysed in a web dashboard and mobile app.

  • Monitor multiple fish ponds from a single device.
  • View simple, colour-coded readings instead of complex charts.
  • See alerts, recommended actions and trends at a glance.

IoT platform & AI analytics

A cloud-based IoT platform is the heart of the complete Intelligent Pond Monitoring System (IPMS).

  • Manages devices, connectivity, security, data storage and analytics.
  • Includes basic models for edge analytics and machine learning.
  • Optimises network bandwidth and reduces solution cost for farmers.

Trident Analitics’ platform is built to grow with you – from single ponds to district-level deployments.

Solar, grid & offline data

Our system is designed for real-world conditions, including power cuts and network outages.

  • Can be powered by solar or on-grid electricity, or a hybrid of both.
  • Includes built-in storage to store data locally when there is no network.
  • Automatically pushes data to the cloud when the network is back.

Benefits of Trident pond monitoring

More control, fewer surprises, and better planning for your aquaculture business.

Real-time monitoring

Keep track of pond water quality 24/7 with up-to-date readings on your phone. No more guessing or waiting until fish are already stressed.

Data and history

Every reading is stored so you can track changes over time, compare seasons and make better decisions about stocking, feeding and harvesting.

Early alerts, fewer losses

Alerts help you act before the pond reaches dangerous levels – reducing sudden fish deaths and avoiding painful, unexpected losses.

Time & cost savings

Remote monitoring and automation mean fewer unnecessary trips to the pond, lower labour costs and more efficient use of power and feed.

Eco-friendly operations

By optimising aeration, feeding and water use, your farm becomes more sustainable and climate-resilient.

Better planning & finance

Reliable data helps you build a track record, access programs, and speak confidently with buyers, banks and investors.

Training, mentorship & partnerships

Beyond hardware, Trident Analitics runs programs to help farmers and communities unlock the full potential of sustainable aquaculture.

We offer training, mentorship, franchise models and partnership programs tailored for women and youth, farmer groups, and cooperatives.

  • Hands-on training in pond preparation, stocking, feeding, biosecurity and water quality.
  • Mentorship for young people entering the blue economy and aquaculture value chains.
  • Franchise and partnership models for local technicians and hub operators.
  • Support in setting up smart ponds, hatcheries and integrated aquaculture systems.

Frequently asked questions

Some of the questions we often get from farmers and partners.

Do I need internet at the farm?

No dedicated Wi-Fi is required. Our gateway supports GSM (SIM-based) connectivity and can also use Wi-Fi where available. When there is no network, the device stores data locally and sends it to the cloud once connectivity returns.

Can the system run on solar only?

Yes. The system is designed for solar, grid or hybrid use. We size the solar and battery components based on your farm’s needs and typical weather conditions.

What if I have more than one pond?

You can monitor single or multiple ponds from the same dashboard and mobile app. The system can also be scaled to manage different sites or clusters of farmers.

Is it too technical for farmers?

We design everything to be farmer-friendly. The app uses simple colours and messages (e.g. “Oxygen low – turn on aerator”) and we provide training and ongoing support.
